On a hot day there is nothing to make you feel more satisfied than to lay with your partner on a warm wide gum tree branch - well, that is, if you are a pair of 2 metre goannas.

The second largest lizard in Australia, lace monitors are the bane of picnic-ers in summer. Although there is nothing funnier than seeing one running on it's hind legs, it's enormously long tail balancing it from behind, and a string of sausages (that were ready for the barbeque hot plate moments before) trailing from it's mouth... as long as they belong to someone else.
