The Artist

""As an artist , I am inspired by nature's many seasons and infinite moods of color, light and form. It is here that paint and canvas come together and renew my soul". Linda Sorensen was one of the most talented and dedicated students I had the pleasure to teach and know in my 20 years of teaching.            Her work is strong and bold, starting with nature and putting her distinctive creative stamp on it. Art begins where nature ends. Linda's art was always clearly "Sorensen" The clear stamp of original character is always the sign of a true artist and Linda Sorensen has it.   Robert Bateman  "

I have lived in the Ottawa Valley close to nature for 45 years.

I have been a professional self taught artist for 25 years. My orientation to painting involves hands on adventure , often getting to wilderness destinations by boat, canoe ,hiking and camping. I have painted on site in all seasons for 15 years using water mixable oils. My inspiration for my work is the natural world- Algonquin Park is a favorite muse . Reference material is documented with my camera and on site sketches and brought back to the studio where I paint large acrylic canvas's in the winter months.
