Cycle of Life: Sea Turtle Glass Sculpture - Environmental Art Education Project
I conceived this project in 2010 after the Deep Horizon Oil Spill in the Gulf of Mexico. With the help of a team, from 2015 to 2017, the sixty five piece plus sculpture was completed. It is comprised of kiln cast and kiln formed glass, wood, and plastic and other marine debris. I am currently looking for a permanent installation facility - a non profit marine museum or aquarium or sea turtle hospital/rehab center where the sculpture can help educate young and old about the hazards that face sea turtles and other marine life. Up to 80 percent of the cost of the sculpture will not be passed on to an environmental educational space where it can be used to tell the conservation stories.
