Several years ago we moved to Florida and the house I bought had palms and flowering plants. One leafy green plant looked good but never had any flowers on it. I almost dug it out but decided not to and with fertilization and watering it suddenly bloomed with these wonderfull flowers. I discoverrd it was a Bird of Paradise plant. Imagine my surprise when one day I see a Ruby Throated Hummingbird sitting on the end of its extended bloom. Then and there I decided to try to capture this scene on canvas. The end result is thus painting titled Bird of Parise Hummer.
