Badger
Badgers dig complex system of tunnels and chambers, up to 9 m long and 3 m deep. The entrance hole is like a laying oval, about 20 cm high, and 20-30 cm wide. In front of the entrance is a pile of dirt.
Other animals use their burrows, for example burrowing owls (who can’t dig themselves), cotton tail rabbits, skunks, rodents, snakes.
They like dry country, dry forests and grasslands.
Badgers are mainly carnivores and eat gophers, mice, ground squirrels, rats, voles, marmots, snakes, rabbits chipmunks, muskrats, birds, bird eggs, insects, carrion, plant materials.
Since badgers are transient and do not stay at their location but travel a lot, they are vulnerable to road accidents.
