Biography

Born in 1979 in the town of Abbottabad in northern Pakistan Ahsan is a self learned wildlife artist. Apart from his profession as an Ear Nose and Throat surgeon he has a special love for nature and wildlife.

He used to go with his father on hunting and trekking adventures since childhood and used to observe the natural world closely that tempted him to draw and paint.

He has been painting landscapes and wildlife since childhood.
While in a medical school he arranged art exhibitions twice and was awarded artist of mellinium in August 2000.

Recognition only came in 2003 at which time he was hired as a wildlife art illustrator for the Palas conservation and development project in kohistan(NWFP) Pakistan. His published poster on endemic species of Palas valley is celebrated in Pakistan's conservation circles. Since then he has prepared artwork for various nature projects in Pakistan and abroad.

Ahsan is seldom outdoors without his camera and spends much of his time studying bird and animal anatomy. His oil paintings are admirable expressions of the notion of " freedom from spatial constraints". But due to his busy medical work he prefers watercolor for illustrative work.
