These two pumpkinseed gills are sculpted from actual fish that I caught.  I used the live specimens to draw and create the patterns for the work.  My Father made the thick round base from basswood, and a maple burl and driftwood create the underwater scene for the fish.  The fish are anatomically correct and took a first place ribbon for fresh water fish.
