"The Messenger" is a miniature barn owl sculpted from Tupelo Wood and painted in oils.  The barn owl is mounted onto a piece of cedar that symbolizes a crescent moon.  The owl is in an ominous pose that can be understood as a defensive pose.  Owls in some cultures are said to be bad luck, good luck, and even messengers of news; either good or bad.
