Betsy Popp Art Exhibit Raises Funds for Local Scholarships

My recent solo exhibition "Residency Retrospective" was a culmination for works created through my many Artist in Residence programs that I have served over the last 18 years.  The accumulation of adventures, experiences, and reference material has given me an endless supply of ideas for current and future works.  I also wanted to do more than just exhibit my work,  I wanted to help make a difference with my work.  50% of all sales went to the Nicolet College Foundation towards student scholarships.  Overall $1500 was given to the Nicolet College Foundation towards student scholarships.  I remember my parents attempting to help 6 children go to college.  Many of my siblings including myself, had scholarships to aid our goals.  My children also had scholarships to help aid in the overall cost of college.  I wanted to 'pay it forward' and lend a helping hand to other students at Nicolet College where I instruct in the Art Department.
