With the guidance through Artists for Conservation, I have committed a percentage of my sales to Raptor Education Group, Inc., (REGI), at N2160 W Rollwood Road, Antigo, WI  54409.  REGI is a 501 non-profit organization dedicated to the care and rehabilitation of injured or orphaned native bird species and public education of wildlife issues.  REGI has three goals.  1).  To create a safe haven for injured wildlife while they heal and until they are ready to be released back into the wild.  2).  To develop nutritional protocol, rehabilitiation methods and husbandry based on the natural histor

Work selected into the Northern Nationals

An artwork titled, "Shadows", by Betsy Popp is one of the works exhibited in the Northern Nationals, at Nicolet Art Gallery, Nicolet College, Rhinelander, WI.  The show runs from June 16 - July 28.  The opening reception is June 16 at 5 p.m. at the gallery.

15th Annual Artists for Conservation Festival

200 artworks by 179 artists from 19 countries were chosen for AFC's 15th Annual exhibit, celebrating artistic excellence in the depiction of nature, raising awareness of conservation issues and supporting organizations dedicated to them.  84 of the 200 artworks will premier at the Artists for Conservation Festival at Van Dusen Botanical Gardens in Vancouver, Canada from September 23 - 26.

Pop Up Art Event

Saturday, May 28, and Sunday, May 29, Betsy Popp met the public and did art demonstrations expalining her process in wood sculpture.  Betsy also had just over 20 paintings that included landscapes, mammals, and bird life on display that showed the public her versatility in artistic mediums.  On display were examples of her oil, pastel, and acrylic works as well as over a dozen wood sculptures.

"Full Circle", wood sculpture by Betsy Popp, as part of Endangered - ART4Apes virtual exhibition

From now until December 31, 2020, "Full Circle" a wood sculpture by Betsy Popp will be a part of the virtual exhibition of Endangered - ART4Apes.  One of 180 works that feature endangered or creatures in trouble.  "Full Circle" is a sculpture representing Atlantic Spotted Dolphins.

4th Biennal Wings Water

I have two works in the up coming 4th Biennal Wings & Water at the River Arts on Water in Prairie du Sac, WI.  The exhibit runs from January 23 - March 20.  The opening reception will be held Thursday, January 30, from 5:30 - 7:30.

Midwest Seasons Exhibition

My original oil painting, "Winter Waters", 12" x 16" will be a part of the Midwest Seasons exhibition at the Center for Visual Arts, Wausau, WI.  The Exhibit runs from January 3 - April 4 with the Opening Reception on Friday, January 10 from 5 - 7.

Hawktails and Cocktales Fundraiser

On November 2, Betsy Popp painted a golden eagle for a fund raiser for Raptor Education Group, Inc (REGI).  During the course of the evening there were silent auction items available as well as bucket raffles that all raised funds for REGI.  Betsy had some items in the raffles as well as painted live during the evening to have to raffle winner accounced.  Pictured is her unfinished painting and the winners of the painting.

Betsy Popp Art Exhibit Raises Funds for Local Scholarships

My recent solo exhibition "Residency Retrospective" was a culmination for works created through my many Artist in Residence programs that I have served over the last 18 years.  The accumulation of adventures, experiences, and reference material has given me an endless supply of ideas for current and future works.  I also wanted to do more than just exhibit my work,  I wanted to help make a difference with my work.  50% of all sales went to the Nicolet College Foundation towards student scholarships.  Overall $1500 was given to the Nicolet College Foundation towards student scholarships.  I

Betsy Popp - Residency Retrospective

The Nicolet Art Gallery located on the campus of Nicolet College, 5364 College Drive, Rhinelander, WI, will be hosting an exhibit titled, "Betsy Popp - Residency Retrospective" from Monday, November 19 - Friday, December 21, 2018.  The opening reception for this exhibit will be held on Saturday, November 17 from 2 - 4 pm.

Betsy Popp chosen as Artist in Residence for Shenandoah National Park

Shenandoah National Park has just contacted Betsy Popp of Townsend, WI, that she was chosen as their Airist In Residence.  Betsy will serve her residency this August 2018.  Betsy has served a variety of residencies in the past including Sapelo Island, GA, Badlands Nat. Park, SD, Acadia Nat. Park, ME, Everglades Nat. Park, FL, Grand Canyon Nat. Park, AZ, Porcupine Mountain Wilderness Area and Pictured Rocks Nat. My wood sculpture, "Make Room", two life size wrens, will be part of the 8th Annual Artist for Conservation Festival at the Vancouver Convention Center August 22 - 25.  The festival is a multi day art and environmental education event, featuring a world-class conservation themed art exhibit with leading international and regional artists, film, live painting demos, music and cultural performances.

I also have four original paintings as part of "Silent Skies", an international collaborative super-mural mosiac featuring all 678 endangered species of birds of the world.  The 100 foot installation will form the artistic center piece of the 27th International Ornithological Congress in August 2018 at the Vancouver Convention Center, after which the mural will tour internationally.
