Purpose/Mission:
Fewer than 7,000 painted dogs are left across the entire continent of Africa. This is the only place they can be found and the habitat and animals MUST be protected at all costs or they risk extinction. The Painted Dog Conservation works with local populations of both humans and dogs—via conservation, education, and outreach programs—to help them not only survive here, but thrive.

This piece was one of the very first pieces I completed after my teaching in England in 2017 with Eric Wilson.

I chose to do the African Wild dog after being Inspired by a nature documentary I had seen on Netflix. I remember seeing the pack hunting together and the Alpha leding them on. They needed to make a kill to keep their generation going. Their pups back at the burrow, waiting for them, hungry.

When this piece sells I want to donate 10% to this Conservation to help them spread the knowledge needed to live with these animals in peace and to help with their habitat protection efforts.

Background:

This piece is titled "Blood Ties" due to the strong bond that the Wild Dogs have with each other. They are tight as a family and do not falter. They protect one another and keep each other strong.
The blood on the Dog's feet show the journey and struggle it has been for its family.
