Lion heart
In Tibet the monastry gates were guarded by the Tibetan terrier, bred to be protective and alert and ready to announce the arrival of strangers. This alarm then would rouse the sleepy Tibetan Mastiffs who arrived immediately to sort out any problems. This little tale is the basis of my painting. My relationship with the terrier was as intimate as a Tibetan mastiff with the monastery terrier guard dog. I took the characterisation one more step into humour, I hope so anyway. I used gold paint to complete this painting because I want simplicity for our complicated world.
