At the Rock
Witless Bay Ecological Reserve has hundreds of thousands of these Atlantic puffins and seeing them flying around was just stunning. In the moment it was hard to imagine that they are listed as vulnerable. I struggled with trying to capture them in a way that I felt was appropriate but I decided that giving them their environment, their space, would be the best and, as such, the next step was easy. I felt that these majestic cliffs and busy waves would capture how small and fragile these little birds look and how important it is to preserve their habitat.
