This is the second little Western Screech Owl painting for the Friends of Woodhaven. This is a first sketch for one of the little characters that they want for society communications, possibly for children's activities.

I will be drawing and painting a few variations with young owlets as "mascots" for the Friends of Woodhaven Conservancy Society, because preserving habitat for creatures like these little raptors is one of the important reasons this park was first protected from development.

The first two miniature (8" x 8") paintings for a Friends of Woodhaven series have been sent to a fundraiser exhibition in support of the Lake Country Public Art Gallery in the Okanagan Valley. The originals will be available for sale at the show and 30% will go to the fundraiser. I have also created high resolution scans, so these images, (and others in progress), will be used for media and logo/branding for the new Friends of Woodhaven Society in the Okanagan.
