Purpose/Mission:
I am a founding member on the board with the Friends of Woodhaven Nature Conservancy Society. In March 2021 I am also starting an intergenerational Okanagan Art & Nature green sketching club which is connected to this Woodhaven group. We will also collaborate with groups connected to other Okanagan parks or regions. Our bylaw statement: " To protect the environment for the benefit of the public by preserving and improving the overall wellbeing of Woodhaven Nature Conservancy, for current and future generations." An introductory post about the art and nature club is posted on the friendsofwoodhaven.ca blog.

MEMBER OF THE BOARD Plus ART & NATURE GROUP ORGANIZER/LEADER- Community Conservation Group

The conservation area near my art studio has four distinct ecosystems within a relatively small space almost completely surrounded by development, so there has been concern about its fragility and its importance. We have tiny Western Screech Owls, Pacific Skinks and other creatures raising families right by the fence lines. The forest floor has changed, water supplies have been diverted and some trees have fallen. The district parks do their best to care for fragile areas, but community support is also always essential for park organizations. I hope through community involvement and with art projects, to assist with preservation efforts.
