The Artist

"Nothing stirs the soul quite like the song of a loon on a secluded lake; the trumpeting of a bull elk in the Yellowstone valley; or the roar of a waterfall in Yosemite. Nature has always inspired me. My goal is to inspire others, through my art, to appreciate, and participate in the conservation of, our natural world, so that the song of the loon never goes silent.                                                                                                                               "We are as much alive as we keep the Earth alive." - Chief Dan George "

Juried Artist, Illinois Artisans Program, Illinois State Museum

After a forty plus year career in the legal profession, Marti retired in 2008 and now enjoys being able to devote her attention to the creative process full time. It has also given her the opportunity to travel across the country to see first hand the landscapes and wildlife that become the subjects of her paintings. Spending time field sketching, observing and photographing the natural world provide the reference material needed to accurately portray the wildlife and their habitat.
