One of the most memorable experiences I have had - both exhilarating and profoundly saddening - was meeting and scratching Sudan, the last remaining male Northern White Rhinoceros left on the earth who is protected and cared for at the Ol Pejeta Conservancy in Kenya. To actually be touching this tremendous animal with the knowledge that this species will be extinct in my lifetime was very powerful. I will never forget it!
