Conservation

Support for Conservation:

I have supported, or currently support, as a member, the following organizations:
World Wildlife Fund
Earthjustice
Greenpeace
National Parks Conservation Association
Environmental Defense Fund
The Nature Conservancy
Audubon
Rainforest Alliance Network
Friends of the Earth
The Sierra Club
Save the Frogs!
Amur Leopard and Tiger Alliance (ALTA)
Organic Consumers Association
The Maryland Zoo and the Erie (PA) Zoo
National Wildlife Federation

Locally, as a member of the local chapter of Audubon, the Presque Isle Audubon Society, I have donated original artwork twice for their annual fundraiser and have participated in their spring Festival of the Birds. I have donated numerous prints and original work over the years to other area conservation groups such as the French Creek Valley Conservancy, Tamarack Wildlife Rehabilitation Center, Women in the Outdoors and others.

As the owner of Kelly Run Gallery in Cambridge Springs, PA, I have curated and participated in the following exhibits to benefit conservation: “From Couch to Cave: Cats of the World” with a portion of sales donated to ALTA and the Amur leopard breeding program at the Erie Zoo and “Life in the Mist: Rainforest Images” with a portion of sales donated to the Rainforest Alliance Network. Two recent solo exhibits of my work, in 2016, focused on conservation themes: "Rainforest Adventures" at the Roger Tory Peterson Institute, Jamestown, NY (supporting their work in Central America) and "America's Shared Inspiration," celebrating the centennial of the National Park Service (with donations to the National Parks Conservation Association) at Campbell Pottery Store's Stonewall Gallery, Cambridge Springs.  Upcoming in Spring 2019, I will be curating and participating in "Birds and Beasts" at Kelly Run Gallery, with a portion of sales donated to Presque Isle Audubon Society, Erie, PA.

My personal lifestyle is one of ever-increasing environmental awareness and responsibility. Along with my husband, I live on and manage 18 acres of natural habitat that includes a tributary of French Creek. With a recent acquisition of an additional 3 acres, we plan to put the property into a conservation easement. I have been a staunch supporter of organic and local farming, including our own gardens and orchards, for many years. In traveling, we have supported eco-tourism and local conservation projects in the United States and Latin America.
