Dusting the House

The sculpture depicts a lively house sparrow, dusting in a textured gravel bed. Its wings are slightly spread, feathers ruffled, capturing the dynamic motion of this natural behaviour. The gravel beneath is detailed, contrasting beautifully with the sparrow's soft, intricate plumage. This moment is not just playful but purposeful, as the sparrow bathes to rid itself of mites and other parasites. The piece highlights the instinctive care and resilience of wildlife, bringing attention to the delicate balance of nature.
