What started out as a larger scale experiment on an intriguing new work surface, turned into a very satisfying finished piece.

When doing experiments I tend to stick with subjects I’m passionate about. Birds are definitely one of those subjects.

I enjoyed watching this particular little bird out of my studio window. It was busy collecting and storing seeds for the future. One of its fav spots to store these nuts and seeds is in our apple tree. This tree is very old and full of character, cracks and tiny crevices.

If you ever get a chance to sit and admire one of these birds, you will be entertained and amused for hours.
