This portrait of an Ararinha Azul or Spix's Macaw is set in the habitat where he once lived and on a flowering Tabebuia tree where this macaw chooses to make his nest. Plans and programs are in place to hopefully reintroduce this macaw in his habitat in the Caatinga of northeastern Brazil.
