Hargreaves was selected as one of 50 artists from B.C. to participate in Art for an Oil-Free Coast. She took part in a field trip to the Great Bear Rainforest, and later donated her painting to raise public awareness about why the spectacular north coast of B.C. needs protection.
" Conservation isn't something that happens elsewhere, it starts in our own backyards. We can all do our bit, by avoiding pesticides for example. I have Mason Bees and Potters wasps. The bees pollinate my fruit trees and the wasps take grubs from my vegetable plot to feed their young. Nature is perfect. "
