Mountains, rocks, and bristle cone pines are guardians of time. 

     In the high Sierra, mostly above the treeline and not far from Bodie, California, you find a rugged landscape that is not especially forgiving and does not accommodate what doesn't have the flexibility to live there. You also find bristle cone pines. They are magnificent! And like mountains and rocks, they are sentinels.
