This is a painting of Shaman, who was the ambassador wolf for Mission:Wolf, a wolf refuge based in Colorado.  I had the good fortune to be able to meet personally Shaman two times as Mission:Wolf traveled to Kentucky and other states to educate people about wolves.  He was a magnificent black wolf with piercing yellow eyes.  In this painting, he was breaking through some ice in a frozen pond at Raven Run Nature Sanctuary near Lexington, Kentucky.  This painting is in a private collection.
