Conservation

"Lauren works with the Dorset Wildlife Trust (UK) to help promote and finance their ongoing conservation work in and around Dorset (UK) with special attention to the jewel in Poole Harbour: Brownsea Island, one of the few remaining strongholds of Britain's native red squirrel. "

Lauren is particularly fond of the red squirrels on Brownsea Island, each having it's own individual personality, so consequently managing and preserving their habitat is of great interest to her. Monitoring the health of the local populationĀ is also of great importance as a recent outbreak of leprosy has caused a higher mortality rate than in previous years.

Lauren is also very interested in the DWT marine projects in and around Kimmeridge and is currently researching the short snouted and spiny seahorses thatĀ breed around British shores.
