An otter swimming in a calm sea and blowing spray as he goes. This was inspired by an amazing photograph by my son-in-law Markus Thompson, follow his fabulous Instagram account at Markus.thalassia.  Markus's original photo I believ3 was of a sea lion, so I adapted my painting to be more appropriate for Shetland. The serenity of the scene is what inspired me - an animal totally at one with his environment.
