This Artistic Cartography piece called "On Nashata Pond" has been done on an antique map that was first produced in 1849. It depicts the historic lands of the Minnesota Native Americans as well as the natural territory of the wolves within northern Minnesota.

This piece, done entirely in graphite and artist marker, was done in partnership with the Voyagers Wolf Project. The Project is focused on understanding the summer ecology of wolves in the Greater Voyageurs Ecosystem. Specifically, the Project wishes to understand the predation behaviour and reproductive ecology of wolves during the summer.

The wolves depicted in the above piece are from the Cranberry Pack and are crossing Nashata Pond near the Nashata Point which juts out into Lake Kabetogama in the National Park.
