I begin with sanded hardboard, 2-3 coats of gesso, 1-2 coats of Red Oxide Acrylic paint as an under color. I sketch out the subject matter in Burnt Umber mixed with Ult. Blue.

I complete my paintings by applying layer upon layer of Acrylic paint.
