Craig
This sculpture of a large bull elephant named Craig from Amboseli National Park. He was named by Cynthia Moss, (founder and director of Amboseli Trust for Elephants) who has been studying this population of elephants since 1972, the year Craig was born. He is depicted here when he was 50 years old, at the peak of his breeding life and most desired by females. Craig is one of the largest and most dominant bulls in the population. He is a favorite with tourists due to his size and his huge sweeping asymmetrical tusks. He is always one of the elephants I look for when in Amboseli.
