Underneath the fragile arctic ice a complex ecosystem has been co-existing for millennia. The Atlantic Salmon, the most fundamental source of food for multiple species, including mankind, have been hunted to near extinction. Another of the most well adapted specialists of this challenging environment, the Ringed Seal, heavily rely on the salmon as their most abundant food source. At the top of the arctic food chain, the magnificent Polar Bear is king in this fragile and challenging land. “Ripple Effect” is a depiction of the fascinating and terrible beauty in the circle of life. Plunging into the icy waters, the Polar bear is equally at home in the water and on the top of the ice. Dwindling polar caps are creating ripples felt around the world. What we do to one species, one habitat, one culture, we do to all. Like a handful of pebbles thrown into a pond, our effect on this world is felt from shore to shore.
