Having been invited to a fancy, quaint tea service, I became interested in photographing the cups and saucers instead. I used the darks of the setting to let the blackbird emerge. Whenever you see them fly you are attracted to the brilliant wing patch and I wanted to convey that feeling as it emerged from the darkness....just in time for tea
