Hunting
The desire to see a jaguar in the wild, found us birding in the Pantanal, Brazil. Along with the mesmorizing display of birds seen, we were lucky enough to spot jaguars along the river banks. Watching them for hours took priority over any birding. I loved how it seemed to flow out of the vegetation. One second it was only grasses moving and then the jaguar was there. This is the feeling I wanted to capture in this painting. Its focus was only on the potential meal that might be found so I included a slight splash of a diappearing otter.
