Not many people realize there is a hunting season on doves, in some areas of Ontario.  They are plentiful.....but so were the Passenger Pigeons.  This hunting season was not without controversry. In my paintings I often use iconic symbols to indicate the sacredness and beauty of wildlife. What appears to be a halo is in fact the sites of a gun aimed at this lovely yard bird.
