We met this old bull one day on the edge of Tanzania's Ngorongoro Crater. Seeing out his last days he stood in the swaying long grass, eating quietly. We spent a few minutes with him at a good distance away, but on the second occaision of body language that suggested he'd be happier alone, we left him and drove down into the crater. Despite the amazing sights of that paradise, the old bull left a strong impression, and lead to this small study.
