While living in Costa Rica, Macaws were a delight to witness. Rarely seen alone and always raising a ruckus in their groups. They mate for life and are always seen in pairs. Sitting side by side preening each other and affectionately cheekily chatting. Unfortunately, macaws in Costa Rica are losing their homes to deforestation and poaching. Here in this painting I try to capture their playful spirit.
