It is hard as an artist to capture a bird in flight in sculpture. I wanted this piece to show the beauty of the wingspan. Increased rodent poisons and loss of habitat have really taken a toll on the Barn Owl's survival. It would be a shame to forever lose the heart-shaped face and sheer beauty of this owl.
