“Mallards are the most abundant and wide-ranging of all ducks. Spring brings many new arrivals to our local pond and it is always a treat to watch the  mallard ducklings. The newly hatched birds learning to swim and following their proud mothers as they tour around their new home.  The floating water lillies reminded me of the water wings my daughters used when they learned to swim.”
