When I was a teen, there were loads of yellowheaded black birds around. Especially when the saskatoon berries were ripe!  Now they are hard to find due in part to the use of pestisides in the winter time habitats.  Hopefully this turns around.  the Interesting part of these fellows is that they cock their heads as they sing their hearts out to get a mate.  a raspy song, but it gets the job done!
