Save the Frogs Day was established in 2009 and organized on the last Saturday of every April by the non-profit, Save the Frogs. It has since become the world’s largest day of amphibian education and conservation action. Frogs are found all over the world, on every continent except Antarctica. Of the estimated 6000 species of frogs identified to date, he IUCN classifies over 1200 as either endangered or critically endangered. Many more species are likely at risk due to lack of population studies and monitoring.
