International Bear Day is an international annual event on the first Saturday of April, dedicated to the preservation and protection of the world's eight species of bears. The day was conceived in 2014 and officially proclaimed by Artists for Conservation on September 11, 2014 at the 2nd international BC Conservation Symposium held at the Beaty Biodiversity Museum and University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada.
