Aga Elliott believes wildlife art has the potential to inspire viewers to conversation and education, inevitably leading to increased awareness of the plight of our planet’s animals.
Aga is a self-educated wildlife artist, born in Poland, now residing in Colorado. Her primary medium is oil. She draws inspiration from artists like Robert Bateman and Carl Brenders, who not only are naturalists, but who successfully capture wildlife, and their natural environments, through realism.
Aga aims to portray animals in their moments of beauty. Her goal is to capture their delight of simply being and the essence of their movement, emotion, passion, vulnerability, and majesty. She presents her subjects with the purity of spirit that comes from pure existence in the moment of their capture. Every one of her pieces has a story that is emotive and emotional.
Aga was involved in Colorado’s proposition 114 to reintroduce gray wolves to Colorado. Her donation of an auctioned artwork, “Advocate for Equilibrium”, contributed significantly to this cause. More recently, Aga’s painting “Locked On” was shortlisted for the David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation Artist of the Year competition for 2021, in the category of “Animal Behavior”.
Aga’s hope is to promote appreciation of the creatures that share our world, in the hope that they will not be lost to us forever.
