"As an artist specializing in wildlife, I am constantly approached by a wide range of organizations seeking support for their own various causes. When I became a member of AFC however, I realized this organization was of a quite different nature. Yes, it raised money to support the organization itself, but it went that one step further… encouraging member artists to donate a portion of their sales for conservation-centered charitable groups of their own choosing. AFC’s philosophy and unique approach to cross-organizational support is the major factor behind my desire to renew my support as an AFC Festival Patron."
Born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, Brent has lived in the Pacific Northwest most of his life, mainly on Vancouver Island. Having discovered a love of carving at a young age, Brent created wood relief and figures, stone carvings, fine detail decoys, and then entered the bronze-casting field in recent years. His work focuses on birds and sea creatures for the most part, with birds of prey being his favorite subject. Brent's use of negative space and ability to capture the essence of movement and interaction of his subjects has been widely complimented by art lovers at galleries and shows.
