Chatterboxes (2017)

$1900 USD
The starling population in the UK has fallen dramatically to half of what it was a few years ago and is now a cause for concern. To some people the starling is a pest, to others a source of wonder, as a murmuration of birds goes to roost. I am lucky to share my life with a rescued starling who lives in our kitchen. I see another side to this bird: his beautiful iridescent feathers, his natural outgoing, gregarious character, his ability as a mimic and his desire to be with me. This picture is based on studies of him preening and feeding.
