Head Above Water - Polar Bear (2016)

This piece represents the plight of the polar bear and some of the obstacles it still faces today. I wanted to bring the viewer right down to the polar bear's level, to see the look of desperation in his eyes, as he's been swimming a very long distance. Does he see any land in sight? Or because of climate change, has his destination melted even further than he thought? I leave it up to the viewer to decide his fate; much like real life, it IS up to us what his and our entire planet's fate is.
