On The Edge (2015)

My first encounter with the Snow Leopard was in 1972. It was in an open market in Kabul, Afghanistan where dozens of pelts lay waiting to be sold. I was devastated by the slaughter. 'On The Edge' is a testament to the human encroachment into the domain of these rare and magnificent animals. The latest devastation to the habitat is through climate change. By painting the animal on the edge of a cliff with mist rising from the melting glaciers, I hope to make the statement that the warming of the environment threatens all creatures.
