Endangered Reflections (2017)

$3700 USD
In the early morning, this Amur Leopard made his way down to a log at the chilly water's edge. As he cautiously watches his surrounding area he takes a drink which creates a wonderful reflection on the pond and a very abstract design in the water. Amur leopards' habitats are in Northeast Asia and these leopards are on the brink of extinction. It is estimated that there are only about 60 amur leopards left in the wild! The sad thing is these animals are hunted for their beautiful spotted fur. That beautiful spotted fur is what inspired me to create this piece, along with the wonderful abstract reflections. I hope that this drawing will help to bring attention to the very sad state that these incredible animals are in. This is the third piece of my 'Reflections' series.
