What Was That? (2016)

Canada Lynx are larger than a Bobcat but not considered a big cat. The lynx is a North American mammal of the cat family, Felidae. With the recognized subspecies, it ranges across Canada and into Alaska as well as some parts of the northern United States. The Canada Lynx is protected under the Endangered Species Act as a threatened species. Declines of lynx in the lower 48 states were due to trapping and timber harvests that removed, changed and fragmented habitat. Today, timber harvest, recreation and their related activities are the threats to lynx habitat.
