Spotted Hyena at the Waterhole (2016)

The hyena is the second largest carnivore in Africa. We watched this female and her four cubs play in a waterhole for hours. Any other animal that dared to drink at this waterhole was harassed by the older cubs. Hyena populations are currently on the decline due to persecution and habitat loss. Conservationists are working towards keeping them off the endangered list.
