The Sun's Rays Penetrate the Night (2016)

$975 USD
The sun's rays penetrate the rock shelter that these female Lesser Long-nosed Bats (Leptonycteris yerbabuenae) take refuge in on their journey north to maternity roosts near the Arizona-Sonora border where they will have their young. They feed upon and pollinate columnar cacti and agaves, as well as eating the cactus fruit and spreading its seed on their long journey. Protection of their roosts and conservation of habitat containing columnar cacti and agaves along their migratory route are critical to maintaining this species. Wild tequila, mescal and bacanora agaves are bat pollinated, so drink to that!
