Peregrine Falcon (2016)

When I paint, I am caught in wonder looking at the natural world. My paintings are my way of calling to you, saying 'this is wonderful, come look at this.' Look at how beautiful this plant is, look at how intricate this spider web is and how wild and aloof the deer hiding in the woods are. Look at how the stripes on a chipmunk echo his shape as he dashes over lichen-covered rocks dappled with light. Take a long moment to look at nature and see all the interconnected wondrous parts of it. That is what my paintings are - an in-depth study of what I experience outdoors. Our natural world is magnificent. My paintings are an expression of my appreciation for that beauty.
